ABOUT

club HISTORY
Rotaract is an offshoot of Rotary International. The Jacksonville Beaches Rotaract works under the guidance of the Ponte Vedra Beach Rotary, and takes its name from the combination of ROTARY and ACTION.

Rotary's object is to encourage and foster the idea of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and in particular, to encourage and foster:

  1. The development of acquaintances in an opportunity of service.
  2. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupation and the dignifying by each Rotarian of his or her occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
  3. The applications of the ideal of service by every Rotarian to his or her personal, business, and community life.
  4. The advancement of international understanding, good-will, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional men and women united in the ideal of service.

Beaches Rotaract was founded in 1998 by former members of the Rotaract Club of Florida's First Coast. Rotaract is different than most other university-based Rotaract clubs. The Rotaract Club of Jacksonville's Beaches draws younger, post-college professionals right from the Southside and Jacksonville Beach community, and serves that same community in a variety of ways.

Our club has been involved in a variety of successful events since its inception, including our annual Gala that donotes all the proceeds to a number of local organizations like "Dreams come true" and "River Clean-up", service projects like beach clean-up, and social events like happy hours, holiday parties, and summer events at the beach. View our scrapbook for pictures and writeups from a variety of events.
